ABOUT STAL HAZELAAR
For years it dominated trotting: The quality brand Stable Stal Hazelaar is back. The stable in which, in the distant past, the leading stallion was Derby winner Nimrod R. and his son Uno Hazelaar, and in which all horses were trained by Wim Velis. Uno Hazelaar, a horse with unique qualities and proven the best of his generation. Michel Stassen, owner and founder of Stal Hazelaar, was introduced to the trotters’ sport through his wife, and specifically her father Sieb Houben, who was then the prominent owner of the famous Stal Antonio with its various Derby winners.
BOKO MEETS HAZELAAR
After an encounter between Michel Stassen and John Bootsman (Boko) the never lost passion regained extra energy and Stal Hazelaar revived! "Boko meets Hazelaar' brings history back to life! Meanwhile few superbly bred yearlings graze on the grounds. Apart from two horses, Donato Hanover and Muscle Hill, all have Virgill Boko as the father. As agreed the first yearlings are still called Boko but the brand Hazelaar is back in the race by Hans and Jan Hazelaar. They both still carries the only real unique Hazelaar blood

The past is the best prove: The natural and peaceful surroundings, the beautiful Limburg landscape is ideal for rearing the best horses. The various successes have shown that Stal Hazelaar has a professional approach and its vision is the right one. This history is now being extended. This quality, these winners are not only created for the Dutch market but also for the International markets. The horses of Stal Hazelaar compete with their international peers. They either have the Dutch or the German Nationality.
SPECIAL TREATMENT AND TRAINING
In Stal Hazelaar Jonker Prize winner 2015 Giorgio Boko and Productendraverij Winner 2016 Galvani Boko were born and raised. The Breeders Crown 2016 was run by Galvani Boko in a new record of 1.14.0. All this under the guidance of trainer Dion Tesselaar.
